Perspective / The TWWS philosophy

Culture carries
the message.

What makes someone want to be part of something?

A book can be an assignment. It can also be an invitation into a world. The difference often lives in the people, experiences and culture around it.

The World We Share is built around the idea that learning can become part of a student’s identity. A student can be a scholar and an artist. A reader and a filmmaker. Curious about history and serious about music.

Make room for the connection.

A song can open a conversation about poetry. A clothing design can lead to questions about symbolism. A painting can become a way of discussing memory and place.

Our developing creative model asks students to study, question, interpret and create. The goal is an original response: something they have thought about and made themselves.

Give the work an audience.

Recognition helps communicate what a community values. We want student art and writing to have a stage, and young creators to feel that their ideas belong in public.
